Abraxas multi Pitch Climb
Climb a three-pitch desert test piece!
Abraxas Tower is a sunny adventurous three-pitch climb featuring cracks of all sizes. Rated at a slightly sandbagged 5.10-, this climb is best suited to those with some climbing experience. It features hand cracks, off width, chimneying and finger cracks.
What to expect: A short fifteen minute drive from Moab, Abraxis tower is more of a leaning pillar, sitting detached from the wall at the Abraxas Crag. A sunny facing wall, this is a great multipitch for cooler weather. The hike to the base is ten-fifteen minutes long. The focus will be on safe multi pitch techniques, climbing instruction for a variety of crack sizes, and several rappels to descend from the summit.
Duration: This is a half to three-quarter day excursion, meaning 4-6 hours town to town. Length depends on group size and pace.
What to Bring: Close-toed Hiking shoes, 3 liters of water per person, lunch and snacks, a hat, sunglasses, sun protection (sunshirt, sunscreen, chapstick, etc). Recommended: Crack gloves (we love these) or Athletic/climbing tape to make Tape Gloves. Recommended: small backpack for carrying water on the climb. We can loan you one if necessary, just ask!
