Looking Glass Arch climb

Looking Glass Arch is an incredible feature that sits alone in the desert south of Moab. The climb is mostly a ramp, with a few moves of 5.9 at the start. Three pitches of delicate slab climbing bring you to a large summit that gives 360 degree views of the incredible southern Utah desert surrounding it. The rappel is almost better than the climb, with a unique entry that requires shimmying through a hole into a free hanging 150' drop!

What to expect: The drive from Moab takes about 40 minutes. We park at the base of the climb, so there is no hiking required. After a safety brief going over the basics of multi pitch climbing, belaying and technique, we will begin our ascent, stopping at each belay station. The follower will clean the quickdraw's from the route as they climb. Once we reach the summit, we will climb down a small ramp to reach the rappel station. From there we will go over rappelling technique, and then each participant will rappel to the ground, with a backup belay.

Duration: This is a typically a 5-7 hour trip town to town.

What to Bring: Close-toed Hiking shoes, 3-4 liters of water per person, lunch and snacks, a hat, sunglasses, sun protection (sunshirt, sunscreen, chapstick, etc). 

We will provide all technical equipment such as ropes, harnesses, helmets, rappelling devices, and climbing shoes etc. If you have your own equipment and would like to use it, we'll just need to have a look at it to make sure it's up to our standard.
